DDGs/Ethanol Testing

DDGs/Ethanol

Ethanol coproducts such as dried distillers’ grains (DDG), distillers grains with soluble (DDGS), wet distillers grains (WDGS) and heavy steep water (HSW) are valuable nutrition sources for livestock producers. However, if inbound corn contains aflatoxin, fumonisin or other mycotoxins prior to processing, the final coproducts streams will contain concentrated levels of mycotoxins. Rapid, on-site mycotoxin monitoring tools from VICAM help protect the value of ethanol coproducts, ensuring safety and marketability.

Mycotoxin Testing Solutions

Aflatoxin B1, B2, G1, G2

Highly toxic chemical byproducts of Aspergillus molds which are known to cause cancer in humans.

Deoxynivalenol

Toxin produced by Fusarium molds which causes livestock feed refusal, vomiting and interferes with growth and development.

Fumonisins B1, B2, B3

Toxic chemical metabolite of Fusarium molds which causes equine leukoencephalomalacia and has been linked to human esophageal cancer.

Ochratoxin A

Toxic byproduct of Aspergillus and Penicillium molds which is a suspect carcinogen and causes serious disease in humans and animals.

T-2/HT-2

Toxic chemical metabolite of Fusarium molds which inhibits DNA and protein synthesis, resulting in severe diseases of the airway, skin and stomach.

Zearalenone

Estrogenic toxin produced by Fusarium molds which disrupts livestock growth and reproduction resulting in significant production losses.
